URBAN SOUNDS CLASH CLASSIC
Performance / Sound and picture collage
akademie der autodidakten
9.–12.2.2012, 8 pm
Urban Sounds Clash Classic is a film and music project inspired by the movie „Berlin – Die Sinfonie der Großstadt“. In a semi-documentary way young people will record and compose an artwork consisting of pictures and sounds, which will capture the different aspects of Berlin from their perspectives. The collected pictures and sounds will be brought on stage as an orchestral sound and picture happening. Here the young people will participate as musicians/composers or directors/VJs. The production merges sounds, electronic rhythm, classic and film to a collage about Berlin. It tracks the development that made it possible for street art to establish itself in a museum next to the Mona Lisa.

WARTEN AUF GLÜCK
Work in progress
In cooperation with the Röntgen school
15.2.2012, 11 am
In a period of four months the theatre project Warten auf Glück was developed. This happened within the context of the TUSCH Partnerschaft between the Ballhaus Naunynstraße and the Röntgen school. Pupils of class 9b from the Röntgen school and the director Ayhan Sönmez have worked together on a production dealing with the subject of luck. It particularly focuses on the different aspects of luck: luck is a complex term, on one side it describes a feeling and on the other processes like „fortunate coincidence“. In conversations and improvisations the pupils examine what luck means and how one can experience it. Everyone has a different idea about luck. Is there a recipe? Can one make it happen or is it just a biochemical process?

GIRLSTOWN – KIEZ-MONATSSCHAU X
News from the Naunynstrasse
Premiere: 16.2.2012, 8 pm
Who has access to the media and who can make his voice publicly heard? Young migrants and post-migrants are still strongly under-represented in the media. Within the framework of the Kiez-Monatsschau young people swap to the side of the producer and rise to speak.
Six girls from Kreuzberg begin to search for stories. Together with the artists Yara Spaett and Janine Jembere they explore their neighbourhood, the people and the possibilities of sixty minutes Kiez-Monatsschau. The neigbourhood is used as laboratory and stage in order to create a visibility of one’s own subjectivization process. With their opinions and pictures they discuss, examine and update their own position and allow us to be part of their view of the future.

With pupils of class 456E from the Nürtingen primary school
Choreographer: Modjgan Hashemian
17.2.2012, 11 am and 4 pm
Together with pupils from the Nürtingen primary school the choreographer Modjgan Hashemian developed a dance theatre project, which is based on computer games. The key focus of this project is the artistic examination of a transition between real and virtual space. The topic „virtual world“ is considered on various levels. The rules of the game were developed together and set the structure, which is then transformed into dance. Stories and experiences of the children are also part of the production. The game ends when the real world is reflected into the virtual one. At this moment one cannot tell the two worlds apart and has to ask the question: who controls whom?

DIE LANGE NACHT DER GENERATIONEN
A Trilogy by Lukas Langhoff
With Pauschalreise – Die 1. Generation, Klassentreffen – Die 2. Generation and Ferienlager – Die 3. Generation
24.–25.2.2012, 8pm aund 26.2.2012., 6 pm
Klassentreffen – die 2. Generation was conceived as a series of snapshots of German-Turkish lives in Berlin. In Ferienlager – Die 3. Generation, Lukas Langhoff turned his attention to the children of this generation in a highly entertaining collage of soundbites from young German-Turks revealing the gaps and contradictions that distinguish their lives. Following guest performances at the Munich Kammerspiele and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, both productions were invited to Kabul and New York, and can now be seen as a trilogy with the new production Pauschalreise – die 1. Generation. Avoiding the pitfalls and clichés of the usual integration debates, we are presented with a sparkling range of personal stories and individual dreams and desires.

PAUSCHALREISE – DIE 1. GENERATION
A fictional text for real people
By Hakan Savaş Mican
27.–28.2.2012, 8 pm
Following Klassentreffen – Die 2. Generation and Ferienlager – Die 3. Generation, Lukas Langhoff presents the final part of his trilogy of generations. Pauschalreise – Die 1. Generation is the story of an encounter between first-generation pioneers, who brought little more than a suitcase full of dreams and ideas to Germany when they arrived 50 years ago, and their grandchildren who have found very individual ways of handling the conflicts and contradictions that shape their lives. The stories of their everyday lives are rooted in a common dream: the desire to finally arrive in a better world.
